There are actually two international airports in Gothenburg. Ryanair flies to Gothenburg City Airport, 10 miles from the city centre, whereas British Airlines and Scandinavian Airlines fly from London Heathrow to the larger Gothenburg Landvetter Airport, 16 miles away.

Gothenburg provides endless shopping, an interesting café culture, loads of intricate landmarks and a picturesque harbour.

Attractions include the Maritima Centrum (where you can hop on a submarine and a destroyer), and the Opera House, the Konstmuseum for some art, the Liseberg Amusement Park, the Universum (an impressive science museum) and the Museum of World Culture, plus a number of relaxing parks.

You can easily get around Gothenburg on foot or by tram and you may find most of your time is spent in Brunnsparken, the main district. Götaplatsen Square is also immensely popular while the harbour features many fun attractions and the Opera House.
